Meaning of Composting

The composting technique is an old process, which was in fact already pursued in the past by our ancestors (a process comparable to the current domestic composting). The CIPNES plant proposes the same techniques on a large scale, providing for the industrial composting of large quantities of organic waste, in this case lignocellulosic (mainly pruning mowings). The technique consists in the controlled "decomposition" of the treated green fraction, with the consequent loss of the putrescible fraction (elimination of moisture), and the production of a fertilizer (precisely a soil conditioner).

Thanks to the composting process it will be possible to produce an organic product to give the soil and domestic gardens the nutrients and the appropriate structure for the cultivation of the most varied crops. It is therefore a process of producing a material useful in floriculture and agricultural practices, created by the treatment of plant matrices initially identified as waste.

Compost is also an element used in the maintenance of public green areas, in the implementation of greening works and landscape and environmental recovery, in the production of soil, etc..
